The Activate Entertainment Project debuted on Oct. 31st in Winston-Salem, NC. Combining classic and contemporary performance art with world-renowned circus performance, Activate is a game-changer for live entertainment experiences. "Moments"
"Moments" is a vibrant piece combining contemporary dance and circus. It was the first time Activate used 4 dancers in one piece and spent time developing choreography. It was performed in August of 2021 throughout the day at Incendiary Brewing Company.
"FROM STONE" DEBUT
"from Stone." is inspired by the Resilience of Humanity. The piece highlights a traveler with a bright blue suitcase stumbling upon a street performance. What's in the suitcase? How do these people interact? What do they choose to share with one another? These are the themes at play. Watch out recap video to learn more!
"FLYING AWAKE" DEBUT
"Flying Awake" is inspired by what it is like to be a kid. In the short creation process, our guiding idea became "How can we make people feel like kids again?" The final piece incorporated the joy of running free, playing made up games, and what the joys and sorrows are of growing up in the world. By combining physical disciplines of dance and hand balancing, with amazingly detailed, live music, we touched our audiences across Winston-Salem, NC.
